Police Investigating 18-wheeler Crash

The Belton Police Department is investigating what caused a tractor trailer filled with cattle to leave southbound I-35 and overturn on an embankment between the interstate and frontage road.

The crash occurred at about 5:05 a.m. just south of Loop 121. An undetermined number of cattle died in the crash. The driver suffered minor injuries.

The driver was transporting cattle from an auction to a cattle ranch in Williamson County.
