Boil Order Lifted for Auction Barn and Old Golf Course Roads

Boil Order Lifted for Auction Barn and Old Golf Course Roads

The boil water notice issued on Feb. 20, 2021, for Old Golf Course Road and Auction Barn Road is rescinded. The order was issued following a loss of water pressure in that area.

Feb. 20, 2021

Due to loss of water pressure that occurred during the recent winter weather event, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required our water system, City of Belton PWS No. TX140002, to notify customers of the need to boil their water prior to consumption. The affected area is contained within Auction Barn Road and Old Golf Course Road for those who lost water during this time.

The boil water notice is necessary because water to the affected area lost water pressure.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the water system officials notify the public that the water is safe for consumption. Instructions to discontinue boiling will be issued in the same manner as this notice and on the City’s website at www.beltontexas.gov.

If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact City of Belton Public Works Department at (254) 933-5823.
