Belton Names New Director of Public Works and Assistant Director of Public Works

Two City of Belton employees were promoted to leadership positions today within the Belton Public Works Department.

This morning City Manager Sam Listi appointed Angellia Points as Director of Public Works, and Jeremy Allamon as Assistant Director of Public Works. This follows the retirement last week of Director of Public Works Byron Sinclair.

“These two appointments give us the right personnel in leadership positions, and the right organizational structure to meet the City’s future needs,” Listi said.

Points was City Engineer and Director of Internal Services. She will maintain her current responsibilities with capital projects, fleet services, City buildings, and environmental compliance. She will also have overall responsibility for traditional public works functions in a reorganized Public Works Department, which include water/wastewater, streets and traffic, drainage, and brush collection.

Allamon has served nearly nine years in the Parks & Recreation Department, most recently as Events Coordinator. He also has six years of utility experience.

"I'm excited to join with Jeremy in leading the Public Works Department," Points said. "Overall, we have a great staff that works very hard."

The appointments are effective immediately.
