Police Release Name of Victim in Homicide

IMG_0376cip (1)Belton Police have released the name of the man who died in a stabbing incident on Tuesday, Aug. 16. The victim was Bradley Deon Moffett, 30, of Belton. The name of the man suspected of doing the stabbing is being withheld at this time pending charges.

At 7:35 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to the report of a man down with a possible stab wound at the Carla Apartments, 400 N. Wall. Upon arrival officers found the victim unconscious in the parking lot. Officers started CPR, and Mr. Moffett was transported to Baylor Scott and White Hospital by Belton EMS. He was pronounced deceased a short time after arriving at the hospital.

Officers located a suspect fleeing the scene after being given a description and direction of travel by witnesses. Following a foot pursuit and brief struggle, a person believed to be responsible for this crime was taken into custody. This case is still under investigation by the Belton Police Criminal Investigations Division. The identity of the suspect will be released once formal charges are filed.
