Belton Police Department Hosts Summer Activities

BELTON – The Belton Police Department is hosting Law Enforcement Explorer Academy and Youth Police Camp, May 30-June 2, 2023. 

The Youth Camp is open to students entering grades 6-8.  Two sessions are available: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and noon-4 p.m.  Each session is limited to 40 participants. Attendees will participate in fun and interactive team building activities emphasizing the characteristics of honesty, responsibility, and attention to detail.

The Explorer Academy is from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and open to students ages 14-20. Participants will engage in interactive classroom training and hands-on activities aimed at developing skills needed to pursue a career in criminal justice. Furthermore, participants will be eligible for membership in the Explorer Program and to compete in future Explorer competitions.

Students residing in Belton, Central Texas Christian School, and Belton ISD students are eligible to apply for these summer activities.  All interested students must complete an application by May 12, 2023. Applications are available from School Resource Officers, or at the Belton Police Department, 711 E. 2nd Ave. Please turn in completed applications to the Belton Police Department or to a School Resource Officer.
