The Belton Police Department is dedicated to providing excellent service through partnerships that build trust, reduce crime, create a safe environment and enhance the quality of life in our community.
We are a "Civil Service" city under Chapter 143 of the Texas Local Government Code.
A little History: The records show the police department was housed in a small building next to the Bell County Jail from 1966 to 1971. It then moved to a former recreational building in Yetti Polk Park that was owned by the city. It stayed there until 1990 when a new police station was built at the corner of 2nd Avenue and Birdwell. Today we reside at this address.
The Belton Police Department provides the following:
- Patrol
- Bicycle Patrol
- Criminal Investigations
- Narcotics Enforcement
