Another Boil Order in Leon Heights Area Scheduled Beginning on Monday at 11 p.m.
August 17, 2018
The project to replace water and sewer mains under Leon Street, between Hastings and Hilltop, will require a second disruption in water service overnight on Monday, Aug. 20. It is anticipated that water service will be restored by 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21, but the disruption in service requires a precautionary boil water order.

Affected residents on Leon, Hastings and Hilltop Streets received hand delivered notices on Friday, Aug. 17, stating that they should boil their water beginning at 11 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 20, until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22. The boil water period is a requirement of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).  The City of Belton, PWS No. TX140002, is required to notify customers of the need to boil their water prior to consumption due to the loss of water pressure.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from another suitable source.

Disruptions in service are only initiated when absolutely necessary. Thank you for your patience

The lifting of the order will be published on the City of Belton website and on Facebook and Twitter.
