Community Workshop on Comprehensive Plan is Monday, June 19

Final_Draft_Links_20170516aPlease join us on Monday, June 19, at a Community Workshop to learn more about an update to the City of Belton’s 2030 Comprehensive Plan. The workshop will be from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Harris Community Center, 401 N. Alexander Street.

Planning Department staff will provide a short overview of the 2030 Comprehensive Plan, and a Future Land Use Map will be on display for review. Printed copies of the Comprehensive Plan will also be available to review. In addition, Planning Department staff will be available to answer questions about the proposed plan, and written comments will also be accepted.

The public comment period for the 2030 Comprehensive Plan is an important part of the update process. Public comments on the draft of the plan will be accepted by email (planning@beltontexas.gov), mail (P.O. Box 120), or in person at City Hall until 5 p.m. on June 19.

A draft of the 2030 Comprehensive Plan and public comment forms are available on the City of Belton website. Once the Workshop and public comment period is complete, public feedback will be considered during the drafting of the final version of the Comprehensive Plan. The completed plan will then be presented for consideration to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Following Planning and Zoning Commission review, the plan would be considered for adoption by the City Council.

Please join us at the Community Workshop on Monday, June 19, 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the Harris Community Center, for an opportunity to learn more about and have a voice in the City of Belton’s future.
