Salsa Competition Features Belton First Responders

Salsa Competition Features Belton First Responders

Up to five teams of Belton community leaders will face off in a salsa recipe competition at the H-E-B store in Belton on Saturday. The event is scheduled from 2-4 p.m.

Participants representing Belton Police, Fire, and EMS will be at the store. Belton PD will be represented by Citizens Helping in Police Service (CHIPS).

The competition is expected to be fierce. Rumors have circulated that Firehouse Salsa is so good it could be marketed and sold. Belton PD reports that a team CHIPS members (no pun intended) are preparing a special salsa recipe that is expected to be very competitive.

Shoppers will be able to sample and vote for a favorite, so plan to be in the store between 2-4 p.m. Police mascot “Badge” will also be at the event to check out the Salsa.

Ballot forms will be collected and counted beginning at 3:45 p.m. Results will be announced over the store PA system. Eric Tovar, (General Manager) will present trophies for 1st and 2nd place.

Mark the calendar for Saturday July 11, 2-4 p.m. Tasty salsa awaits. May the best salsa win.
