Memorial Ceremony set for Sept. 11

Belton Fire and Police Honor Guards will perform at a brief ceremony at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor's Mayborn Center on Sept. 11. The ceremony is to honor first responders and others who died as a result of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

The event will begin at 8:46 a.m., the time when the North Tower of the World Trade Center was struck by terrorist who took control of American Airlines Flight 11. Those who attend are asked to please arrive by 8:30 a.m.

Guest speakers include Fire Chief Bruce Pritchard and Police Chief Gene Ellis.
