Santa Pal Registration Period is Open -- Gift Donations Welcome at Select Locations in Belton

cyb-santa-clausaThe Belton Fire Department is involved again this year in the Santa Pal Program, which helps needy families provide for Christmas, typically for ages 1-14.

An application is required. The deadline to apply is Dec. 9. 

The goal is to give each child up to three items, plus stocking stuffers, but the giving is dependent upon donations. New unwrapped toys or monetary donations are accepted. Please make checks payable to “City of Belton Fire Department” and include “Santa Pal” in the memo line. The toys are typically distributed the Saturday before Christmas. 

DONATION INFORMATION 
Donations are being accepted at drop-off boxes at the following locations: 
-- Both Belton Fire Departments (420 Sparta Road or 203 S. Penelope Street) 
-- Finance Building (100 S. Davis) 
-- First State Bank (2855 N. Main Street) 
-- B Town Burgers (508 Sparta Road) 
-- Both Shipley Donuts Locations (521 E. 6th Avenue or 2805 Loop 121)
-- Dollar General (501 E. 6th Avenue)
-- Grand Avenue Theater (2809 Oak Mark Drive)
-- UMHB Campus (Student Union Center, upcoming basketball game at Maybe Center)

APPLICATION DEADLINE IS DECEMBER 19 
To participate in this program families must be residents of Belton. Children must live in the home of the applicant. The program is for children, 18 months to 14 years. 

To apply adults must bring:
-- Proof of Identity
-- Proof of Current Residence
-- Proof of ALL Household Income for Past 30 Days
----- SSI or SSDI Award Letter
----- Child Support Statement
----- Unemployment Benefit Statement
----- Check Stubs. 

For each child, applicant must bring two of the following: 
-- Birth Certificate
-- Social Security Card
-- Medicaid Card (if all information is current)
-- Food Stamp/TANF Award Letter (if all information is current).

Applications may ONLY submit to ONE agency. The list is shared with other agencies, and duplicate applications will result in denial of ALL applications.
