The services provided by the Belton Fire Department can be placed into two basic categories: Fire and Rescue and Emergency Medical Services. All firefighters and paramedics with the Department are State Certified and also hold certification in basic trauma life support, advanced cardiac life support and paramedic advanced life support. Ambulance personnel are certified in advanced life support.

Fire and Rescue
The Belton Fire Department is trained for, and responds to, various types of rescue situations, including hazardous material incidents, confined space rescue, vertical rescue and swift water rescue. Each year the department responds to 1,500 fire and rescue calls, from structure fires, smoke reports, grass fires to mutual aid calls from other paid and volunteer departments throughout Bell County.

Emergency Medical Services
Belton's EMS service jurisdiction comprises of 112 miles of Bell County, including the two area lakes, Belton Lake and Stillhouse Hollow Reservoir. Each year, Belton paramedics respond to more than 2,000 calls.
