Atmos Energy has notified more than 60 Belton addresses about its intention to replace a natural gas pipeline in the Miller Heights area. The project is set to begin on May 1 and end by June 30.
In the letter sent to property owners, the company said it will be replacing 3,100 feet of pipe, most of it located in the City of Belton Right-of-Way. Where possible the company said it plans to use trenchless boring technology.
The project will take place in the vicinity of E. Avenue P and E. Avenue R. The contractor is Smetana & Associates Construction Company, which is headquartered in Temple.
