The Belton Fire Department is involved again this year in the Santa Pal Program, which helps needy families provide for Christmas, typically for ages 1-14. Belton residents may contact the Temple Help Center, 102 E. Central in Temple (254-770-6842) to complete an application. The application deadline is Dec. 11.
The goal is to give each child up to three items, plus stocking stuffers, but the giving is dependent upon donations. New unwrapped toys are preferred, although used toys are accepted. The toys are typically distributed the Saturday before Christmas.
DONATION INFORMATION Donations of new or unused toys will be accepted at drop-off boxes at the following locations:-- Both Belton Fire Departments (420 Sparta Road or 203 S. Penelope Street)-- Finance Building (100 S. Davis)-- City Hall (333 Water Street)-- First State Bank (2855 N. Main Street)-- Schoepf’s Bar-B-Que (702 E. Central Avenue)

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS DECEMBER 11To participate in this program, apply through the Temple Help Center located at 102 East Central in Temple (254-770-6842). Families must be residents of Belton, children must live IN the home of the applicant, and the program is for children between 18 months and 14 years.-- To apply, adults must bring Proof of Identity, Proof of ALL Household Income, and Proof of Current Residence. -- For each child, they must bring two of the following: Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, Medicaid Card (if all information is current), or Food Stamp/TANF Award Letter (if all information is current)-- Applications may ONLY submit to ONE agency, and the list is shared with other agencies. Duplicate applications will result in ALL applications being denied.
