Belton firefighters were recognized at a City Council meeting on Sept. 23 for their role in saving the life of a 61-year-old man.
At around midnight on Aug. 11, a medic and engine crew from the Belton Fire Department responded to an emergency call for an unconscious person at a residence north of Belton. When medics arrived they found a family member providing CPR.
Medics quickly took over care for the patient, applying a defibrillator and transporting him to a local hospital. The man's wife attended the Council Meeting and hugged and thanked the men who assisted her husband.
