The Belton Police Department is making plans to join other Texas communities in participating in the 31st Annual National Night Out crime prevention event from 6-9 p.m. on October 7.
The department is seeking community members who are interested in hosting neighborhood block parties. Those interested in partnering with police officers in hosting a block party in their neighborhood are encouraged to contact Belton's National Night Out Coordinators Sgt. Kim Hamilton or Sgt. Doug Taylor at 254-933-5840 or email email@example.com for more information.
The Belton Police Department sponsors a “Best Block Party” contest with recognition for the most creative block party. Last year, Belton had 17 neighborhood block parties for National Night Out.
National Night Out is an annual crime prevention event designed to unite neighborhoods against crime. National Night Out involves over 37.8 million people and 16,124 communities from all 50 states, U.S. Territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide.
