Yettie Polk Park was reopened to the public on Thursday, Nov. 7. It was closed following a storm late on Oct. 26 that produced hail and high winds, uprooting and damaging several trees and downing power lines in the park.
The park had remained closed because large broken limbs still hanging in trees posed a safety hazard. Cleanup was temporarily delayed during the first week the park was closed when City crews made preparations for a second storm system that ended up impacting neighboring areas east of Interstate 35.
Thank you for your patience as our Public Works crews performed the cleanup. We invite you back into the park to enjoy the beautiful setting that remains.
